Seminar “Topicalities in the agricultural and environmental sectors” on January 13, 2017

On January 13, 2017, a seminar organized by the Farmer’s Saeima “Current issues in the agricultural and environmental sectors” took place at Jēkabpils Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre.

Farmers’ Parliament lifestock expert Raimonds Jakovickis presented the project GreenAgri, Mārtiņš Trons, an expert on Agricultural policy at Farmers’ Parliament, presented current developments in agricultural and environmental legislation. Mrs. Maira Dzelzkalēja-Burmstre, Vice-Chairwoman of the Farmers’ Parliament, spoke on legislative requirements in Europe. In turn, the Farmers’ Parliament environmental expert Iveta Grudovska presented the results of GreenAgri demonstrations and the development of fertilizer plans. After the seminar’s summary, discussions took place on the above-mentioned and other activities in the agricultural and environmental sectors.

The seminar was organized under the project GreenAgri CB272, co-financed by the Central Baltic Program 2014-2020 and the Farmers’ Union.
