2 farmers share 1 ton of diesel fuel at the Farmers' Congress!
On Monday, March 10, the 15th congress - conference of the association "Zemnieku saeima" was held at the Ādaži Culture and Creative Education Center, where the lottery prize - 1 ton of diesel fuel organized by "Zemnieku saeima" and "Latvijas Nafta" was won by 2 members of the organization - the owner of the "Kalna Birzlejas" farm Ēvalds Paupers from Amata region and the owner of the "Bieranti" farm Modris Grūnvaldis from Jelgava region, each receiving 500 liters of diesel fuel!
The owner of the farm "Kalna Birzlejas" Ēvalds Paupers admits: "More than half of the farm is biologically valuable grassland. The fields need to be tended, but the law states that I cannot receive diesel fuel from farmers. I am pleased with the win, because every liter is useful on the farm!"
Modris Grūnvaldis, the owner of the Bieranti restaurant, admits about the win: "I am very happy because I have never won anything and the feeling when you are named one of the winners is unique! I could call these 500 liters of diesel a "little push in real life" because I have never taken out loans, but have always managed financially on my own. 15 years ago I was one of the 100 founders and I wish the organization to continue like this!"
The initiators and organizers of the lottery had intended for one member of the organization to win, but the congress-conference chairman pulled a number from the well of luck, which could just as easily be 6 or 9. After a positive exchange of opinions, the congress participants decided that 1 ton of diesel fuel should go to both owners, 500 liters each!
