A seminar on the "Farmers' Council" was held in Cēsis municipality

On August 30, a “Farmers’ Council” seminar was held in Cēsis region, where AREI Priekuļi Research Center introduced participants to crop management technologies and sustainable rural development. Meanwhile, specialists at the Environmental Solutions Institute shared solutions for sustainable natural resource management using the latest technologies, knowledge, and creativity.

In Taurene parish, we visited the SIA “Āboliņkalns” farm, which is engaged in beef cattle breeding, dairy cows, beef cattle and goats, as well as organic potato growing for food. Next, in Džērbene parish, we visited ZS “Šovītes”, where the owner shared his experience with the opportunities and challenges of diversifying the rural economy – in haymaking, providing land reclamation services, livestock farming, etc.

The seminar took place within the framework of the "CONSOLE" project.
