ZSA seminar on silage preparation using bale technology was held

On February 28, the ZSA seminar “Silage preparation using bale technology” was held. In the first half of the day, we visited the livestock farm “Putriņas”, where the owner Jānis Veidliņš introduced the visitors to his experience in silage preparation.

Next, we went to the Nākotnes Culture House, where Iveta Gūtmane (Dr. Agronome/ SIA “Latvijas Šķirnes Sēklas”) presented the best solutions for choosing grass seeds and their mixtures for making silage. Next, SIA “A Teams Solutions” manager Pēteris Dambergs talked about various technologies for preparing bale silage. Next, Ieva Krakopa, catering specialist at IK “IK konsultācijas”, talked about the quality of bale silage and its indicators. At the end, a working group of pilot farms of the silage project took place.
