At the invitation of the Farmers' Assembly, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture will visit farms in Zemgale
This year, on July 18, Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš and Minister of Agriculture Kaspars Gerhards will participate in a visit to agricultural enterprises in Zemgale organized by the association "Farmers' Council".
During the day, it is planned to visit 3 companies. The first one will be the farm “Rudeņi” in Jelgava region, Sesava parish. The owner Toms Knope will introduce the farm’s experience and challenges in working in the dairy farming and crop growing sectors. Next, a visit to LPKS “Latraps” (Jelgava region, Eleja parish) is planned. The management of Latvia’s largest agricultural cooperative will give guests an insight into the nature of agricultural cooperation, as well as inform them about the development plans of the sector and the specific cooperative. The trip will conclude with a visit to the farm “Paitēni” (Jelgava region, Vilce parish). The owner Gundars Ceplītis will introduce his farming experience in crop growing and garlic growing.
