Meeting of Baltic farmers' organizations on August 22
Russian sanctions and African swine fever have seriously affected farmers in all Baltic countries. To discuss the situation and agree on joint activities to address the situation, a meeting of Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian farmer organizations will be held at the Ministry of Agriculture in Latvia on Friday, August 22. It is scheduled from 12:30 to 15:00.

From 12:00 to 12:30, the media will have the opportunity to individually interview the participants of the event. The event will take place at the Ministry of Agriculture, Republic Square 2, 23rd floor hall.

After the press conference, the media will also have the opportunity to participate in person at a meeting of Baltic agricultural organizations, where each country will present its perspective on the sanctions imposed by Russia and the situation with African swine fever. A discussion is planned after the presentations.

– Deputy Chairwoman of the Board of the Association “Farmers' Council” Maira Dzelzkalėja, experts Ilze Aizsilnieceand Edith Strazdina;
– Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Cooperation Council of Farmers' Organizations (LOSP) for EU Affairs and External Relations Armands Krauze and Director of the Latvian Pig Breeders Association, a member organization of the Latvian Pig Farmers' Association Dzintra Lejniece,
– Member of the Board of the Latvian Agricultural Cooperatives Association Uldis Krievārs and CEO Evija Gunika;
– Member of the Board of the Latvian Farmers' Federation Early Way and project manager Agnese Hauk.

The event will be attended by Lithuania Lithuanian Association of Agricultural Cooperatives and Lithuanian Chamber of Agriculture representatives. From Estonia – Estonian Chambers of Agriculture and Commerce representatives.
