BIOR calls for timely scheduled laboratory examinations of farm animals
The Scientific Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment "BIOR" calls on farmers not to postpone the necessary routine laboratory examinations of animals until the end of November.
Taking into account the laboratory capacity, we urge you to conduct routine laboratory examinations of animals for the following infectious diseases in order to maintain officially free status:
- in bovine animals for enzootic bovine leukosis,
- bovine brucellosis in animals of the bovine species,
- brucellosis in ovine and caprine animals,
- sheep species on Maedi – visna.
To ensure timely issuance of results, we urge you not to postpone examinations for farm animal facilities that have laboratory examinations of animals for the following infectious diseases planned this year:
- equine infectious anaemia in equine animals,
- in animals of the porcine species for brucellosis,
- certified breeding bulls for tuberculosis, brucellosis, enzootic bovine leukosis, infectious rhinotracheitis-pustular vulvovaginitis, trichomoniasis, bovine viral diarrhea, campylobacteriosis (does not apply to animals of artificial insemination stations),
- breeding boars used for semen collection, to classical swine fever, Aujeszky's disease and brucellosis (does not apply to animals in artificial insemination stations).
The deadline for scheduled laboratory tests for farm animals has been extended until November 30 due to the state of emergency. In order for the BIOR laboratory of the state scientific institute to be able to issue results in a timely manner, we urge you not to postpone other scheduled laboratory tests for farm animal facilities.
