BreedExpo project trip to Ukraine
From March 2nd to 4th, as part of the “BreedExpo” project, we went to Ukrainian dairy farmers together with project partners from Finland and Estonia. From Latvia, experts from the “Zemnieku Saeima” association Inga Bērziņa and Raimonds Jakovickis and the chairwoman of the board of the “Latvian Holstein Breeders Association” association Ieva Rutkovska went on this trip. During this trip, we visited the XIII International Dairy Farmers Congress, where we met with the organizer of this congress, Vice President of the Ukrainian Milk Producers Association Ľubomira Dikun.
During the trip, we visited two dairy farms. The first was the “Kischenzi” dairy farm, which is one of the largest dairy farms in Ukraine. The farm is a member of the “Milk Producers Association” and is actively involved in it. The association trains young specialists from all over Ukraine at this farm. The second farm we visited is the “Terezyne” dairy farm, which is the first fully automated dairy farm in Ukraine.
