Call for applications for the “Sower – 2015” competition

The Latvian Agricultural Cooperative Association (LLKA) invites agricultural service cooperatives to nominate their members – rural entrepreneurs, young farmers, as well as family farms – for the competition “Sower – 2015” organized by the Ministry of Agriculture. Applications can be submitted for one more week, until June 1.
Participants in the “Sower – 2015” competition will be judged nominations – “Farm of the Year”, which will evaluate crop, dairy and meat production farms, “Food Production Company of the Year”, “Family on a Farm”, “Young Successful Farmer”, “Organic Farm”, as well as “LEADER Project of the Year in a Local Action Group”. Applications for participation in these competition groups must be submitted to the consultation offices of SIA "Latvijas Lauku konsultāciju un izgītbilsības centrs" or to the regional agricultural departments of the Rural Support Service (RSS), or to the Central Office of the RSS in the Customer Service Department, in Riga, Republikas laukums 2., until June 1, 2015.
This year, participants will also be judged in the nomination "Young Scientist"and for the ninth year, an award for lifetime contribution to agriculture will be presented.
