Changes to connection rules for electricity consumers
Taking into account the active involvement of the "Farmers' Council", on April 1 of this year, changes to the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission's System Connection Regulations for electricity system participants came into effect, which provide for additional solutions and options for seasonal electricity users.
The new service provides the opportunity to reduce the power supply to 9 months once every 12 months and restore it free of charge if the following criteria are met:
.
1. the customer's connection has been used effectively for at least one month (at least 7%) before the connection capacity is reduced;
2. the connection capacity must be above 100 A;
3. the permitted load of the system connection is reduced by at least 50%. The ZSA position was 6%, 50A and 30%!
If you have any additional questions about this option, please contact the specialists of AS “Sadales tīkls”, whose contact information is available at the end of the text.
Data from AS “Sadales tīkls” shows that farmers still have great potential to evaluate the capacity of their connections and reduce their total electricity costs, therefore we encourage them to primarily evaluate the actually required electricity network connection capacity and abandon unused capacity, while simultaneously reducing electricity costs. For your convenience, on the AS “Sadales tīkls” website www.sadalestikls.lv Everyone has access to an easy-to-use load calculation calculator, a cost reduction guide, and tips on how to evaluate the power grid connection capacity at their facility.
The appendix contains a list of contact persons of AS “Sadales tīkls”, a table of permitted load and a formula for calculating the efficiency of capacity utilization.
