CHANGES: LAD will accept applications only online
The Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) has made amendments to the Rural Support Service Law, which the government approved on Tuesday, October 3. The amendments stipulate that the applicant will henceforth have to submit an application for state aid and European Union aid, as well as the accompanying documents to the Rural Support Service (RSS), online, using the electronic application system (EPS). The amendments also provide for the sending of documents issued by the RSS to the aid applicant online, using the EPS.
It should be noted that the majority of applications to the RSS are already submitted electronically, and experience shows that by submitting documents online, the number of errors made has significantly decreased, support administration is smoother, faster disbursement of support payments is possible, and the number and amount of payment reductions and sanctions applied have decreased.
Electronic submission of applications for annual support measures also means a lower administrative burden in completing applications, as it is then possible to indicate in the application only changes compared to the situation in the previous year.
Not all farmers and applicants have the technical capabilities to submit applications and documents online, therefore, the RSS will continue to provide technical support to farmers.
Draft law “Amendments to the Rural Support Service Law” still needs to be approved by the Saeima.
