Current events in the LIVERUR project

On March 31, Maira Dzelzkalēja-Burmistre and Inga Bērziņa participated in a discussion with representatives of the LIVERUR project pilot farms: Juris Cīruli (SIA “Mežacīruļi”), Elīna Cēsniece and Eduards Vilks (SIA “Zelt”), and Māris Šņickovskis (z/s “Klīves”).

Discussion topic: “Future development directions of vegetable, fruit and berry production”. Accordingly, the discussed topical issues will be put forward by the association “Farmers' Council” as priorities in the project until spring of next year and will continue in the long term. As priority directions, the owners mentioned the development of new innovative products, fully utilizing all processing residues, attracting scientists and ready-made solutions from other countries, as well as promoting the development of short food chains and popularizing the nutritional value of vegetables, fruits and berries to children and schoolchildren. After the end of the emergency situation, it is planned to organize seminars on the mentioned topics.
