Farmer, be sensible! Don't spray in strong winds!!!

The Farmers' Council reminds that the Regulations on the Use of Plant Protection Products stipulate that plants may be sprayed with PPPs if the wind speed does not exceed 4 m/sIf the sprayer is equipped with factory-assembled auxiliary devices (auxiliaries) that reduce the impact of wind on the spray, ensuring that the spray reaches only the intended surface to be treated, plants may be sprayed if the wind speed does not exceed 8 m/s;

 

Ensure that weather conditions are appropriate as they can affect the effectiveness and safety of ALL use. Wind-induced leaks of working fluid can be dangerous if the wind is blowing towards workers, other crops, water bodies, animals or houses.

 

The Latvian Code of Administrative Offences stipulates that for violating the requirements for the distribution, storage or use of plant protection products, a fine of seven to three hundred and fifty euros shall be imposed on natural persons, and from fifteen to thirty thousand euros on legal persons. up to seven hundred euro, with or without confiscation of plant protection products.

 

Cross-compliance requirements and conditions must be complied with by all aid applicants applying for payments. For non-compliance with the requirements for the use of plant protection products set out in national regulatory enactments, The payment reduction can be up to 5%!!!
