The Farmers' Assembly will discuss agricultural issues with the Minister of Welfare

The meeting will discuss the measures implemented by the State Employment Agency (SEA) to improve the qualifications of job seekers in agriculture. In addition, the newly established seasonal agricultural worker system, which will begin operating on July 1 this year, will be discussed.

Juris Lazdins, Chairman of the Association "Farmers' Council": "The most active and stressful work period in agriculture has begun. There is still a shortage of qualified, experienced and young specialists in agriculture, therefore, during the meeting, we plan to discuss issues regarding the implementation of the seasonal agricultural worker system and the retraining of the unemployed."

Minister of Welfare Uldis Augulis indicates that "The Ministry of Welfare regularly updates the lists of training and retraining programs for the unemployed and job seekers in accordance with labor market requirements and in cooperation with employers in various sectors. Previous experience shows that discussions with representatives of specific sectors allow for a better understanding of needs and organization of the retraining process for the unemployed." Therefore, the minister will listen to the association's proposals on the possibilities of adapting training programs to the requirements and needs of the agricultural sector, so that in the future we can even more successfully prepare appropriately qualified employees.

The discussion will be attended by Minister of Welfare Uldis Augulis, Chairman of the "Farmers' Parliament" Juris Lazdiņš, Office Manager Rita Ignāte, ZSA Board Member and owner of the "Vilciņi -1" farm Arnis Burmistris, ZSA Member and owner of the "Ezergaļi" farm Dzintars Erdmanis, as well as Head of the Office of the Minister of Welfare Reinis Uzulnieks, Director of the Labor Market Policy Department of the Ministry of Welfare Imants Lipskis, and Director of the State Employment Agency Inese Kalvāne.
