Farmers' Assembly presents Latvian products in Europe

From September 24 to 25, the closing event of the MARLO project will take place in the city of Caceres, in the Extremadura region of Spain. Juris and Maira Sprukuļi, managers of the Z/s “Velcsiljāņi”, Zanda Bībere, assistant marketing manager of SIA “Verry berry”, Gints Mauriņš, chef of the recreation complex “Rožmalas”, as well as experts from the Farmers’ Council Office in cooperation with representatives of Cyprus, Spain, Italy and Lithuania have also traveled to Spain to evaluate the project results and share their experience. An international conference is being held as part of the event, where local producers will participate with product presentations. The final part will include cooking and tasting of national dishes.

The chefs of the project partner delegations will surprise with various delicacies. The Latvian representatives have planned to prepare a traditional rye bread spread from our special and at the same time traditional product – rye bread, “Very Berry” grated cranberries and whipped cream obtained from Latvian cow’s milk. For the Latvian representatives, this is a great opportunity not only to treat interesting people from all over Europe with Latvian delicacies, but also to praise the quality and nutritional value of our products.

Lithuanian representatives will participate in the event with a “super” salad made from organic products, while Cypriot partners will prepare national dishes: chicken Souvlaki, tzatziki and Greek/village salad. On the second day of the meeting, conference participants will visit the interactive museum of traditional cheese production in the CACERES region: Pastoralia - Torta del Casar.
