"Farmers' Council" and SRS update cooperation

On October 21 of this year, Juris Lazdiņš, Chairman of the Board of the Association "Farmers' Council", and Ieva Jaunzeme, Director General of the State Revenue Service (SRS), signed an updated agreement on cooperation in the field of tax administration and promotion of fair competition. 

 

Associations "Juris Lazdiņš, Chairman of the Board of the Farmers' Council, points out: "For the Farmers' Council, as a taxpayer representing producing farmers, productive cooperation with the SRS is extremely important, both in resolving important issues for our members and in improving legislation so that it is more logical and understandable for farmers."

 

SRS Director General I. Jaunzeme points out that it is important to cooperate with taxpayers who faithfully fulfill their obligations to the state and are ready to get involved in order to improve this process. "It is important to ensure that those working in any sector participate in financing healthcare, education, security, and many other areas of national importance, and therefore cooperation with those who are already working to improve the Latvian business environment is of no small importance," says I. Jaunzeme.

 

The SRS, taking into account the information provided by the association, undertakes to develop and use effective tax administration methods in order to implement the purpose of the signed agreement. The SRS undertakes to use the information on tax evasion provided by the association in the tax administration process, considering that the information provided has a high degree of reliability. The SRS also undertakes to inform the association about changes in regulatory enactments in the field of taxes, as well as about the latest SRS practice in the application of legal acts and new SRS services.

 

The Agreement shall enter into force on the date of its mutual signing and shall be concluded until December 31, 2023. With the conclusion of this Agreement, the Cooperation Agreement concluded between the Parties on May 7, 2014 shall cease to be valid.
