The Farmers' Council invites you to a conference on water resources management technologies and practices!

The association "Farmers' Council" in cooperation with the partners of the Baltic Compact project invites you to participate in the conference "Water resources management technologies and practices – new opportunities and challenges for farmers and society”, which will take place this year on March 13-14, in Riga.

The aim of the conference is to share experience and knowledge, as well as to present the results achieved by installing and testing controlled drainage and water management technologies in different countries, in different locations and under different conditions.

The conference will last 2 days, during which there will be an opportunity to gain knowledge from experts from other countries (Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Lithuania) and visit farms in Latvia. The conference will discuss the experience and challenges of integrating environmentally friendly solutions into land reclamation systems. Soren Hvid, an expert from the Danish Agricultural Knowledge Center, will present the results obtained by testing the operation of controlled drainage systems in nature. In turn, experts from Sweden and Finland, based on their experience, will talk about the possibilities of implementing environmentally friendly water management measures in cooperation between farmers, municipalities and other partners.

During the trip to Zaļenieki parish, there will be an opportunity to get acquainted with integrated agricultural practices in the rural areas. "Larks" and responsible farming practices on the farm “Trains 1”.

We invite farmers, consultants, water management and land reclamation specialists, as well as representatives from non-governmental organizations, municipalities, and institutions to participate in the conference.

The conference will take place at "Islande Hotel", Ķīpsalas Street 20, Riga.
