Country Day: “Colostrum Feeding Methods in Calf Raising”

LLKC, in cooperation with JSC "Agrofirma Tērvete", the association "Farmers' Council" and AREI, invites you to attend a demonstration field day on colostrum feeding methods in calf rearing.

The field day will take place on June 20 in two parts from 11:00-16:00. The theoretical, or part I, will take place in Kroņauce, Saime (cafe), part II, or practical – in the calf shed “Lieldzelmes”, Tērvete municipality, Tērvete parish. The field day will provide an opportunity to learn about the importance of colostrum in raising healthy calves, about problems during raising. In part II, visitors to the event will be provided with the opportunity to visit the calf shed “Lieldzelmes” of JSC “Agrofirma Tērvete”, get acquainted with calf keeping methods, colostrum quality assessment and express disease diagnostic methods, as well as the experience of veterinarian, young animal breeding specialist Kathryn Hart (England) in healthy raising of young animals.
