Farm Day for organic farmers on August 25

On August 25, at 11:00, SIA “BIOGUS”, in “Salenieki”, Vārkava region, Rožkalni parish, will host a field day for organic farmers “SOYA enters organic farms”. Anyone who is thinking about growing soybeans on their farm, as well as those organic farmers who have already tried their hand at growing soybeans, is invited to the field day.

During the event, you will be able to meet with project participants:

• Selection of soybean varieties and cultivation characteristics – Inga Jansone and Sanita Zute (Institute of Agroresources and Economics)
• Quality and potential uses of local soybeans in pig farming – Vita Šterna and Imants Jansons (Institute of Agroresources and Economics)
• Economic aspects of soybean cultivation and use – Andris Miglavs (SIA EDO Consult)
• About news in the protein plant market – researcher Ieva Leimane, Alberts Auziņš, SIA EDO Consult
• Farmer Gustavs Norkārklis will share his experience, offering a tour of the soybean field and its care equipment.
