From April 7, you can apply for area payments and the purchase of labeled diesel fuel

From April 7 to May 24 of this year (until June 15 with a reduction in the amount of support of 1% for each missed working day), farmers can apply for area payments by filling out the Single Application in the Electronic Application System (EPS).

Taking into account the restrictions imposed on in-person work, the Rural Support Service also provides all necessary support to clients who are unable to fill in the EPS information themselves over the phone - service employees can fill out and submit the Single Application on behalf of the client during a phone conversation. The service acted similarly in the spring of 2020, when it provided assistance to more than 10,000 clients.

For six months now, farmers have been able to fill out Provisional Area Payment Applications in EPS. This allows you to gradually fill in the necessary information in the application and calculate whether greening and other requirements will be met. Currently, more than 2,400 farmers have already filled out Provisional Applications. We remind you! If a farmer fills in information in the Provisional Application, then this application must be submitted to EPS starting from April 7.

Information material for receiving area payments in 2021 (Handbook) is available on the service's website in the menu “Manuals and forms”.

More information on the service's website in the menu “Area payment types”.

Applying for the purchase of labeled diesel fuel

At the same time, applications for the purchase of marked diesel fuel, which is subject to a reduced excise tax rate, will be accepted from April 7. In order to receive the right to purchase marked diesel fuel, an agricultural producer must submit an application no later than June 1 of this year and confirm that he carries out economic activities registered in the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia or the State Revenue Service.

You can apply for excise fuel until June 1, 2021by submitting an Excise Fuel Application to the Latvian State Revenue Service Electronic Application System (EPS – https://eps.lad.gov.lv/login).

Important!
When filling out an Excise Fuel Application, Revenue from agricultural production must be reported for 2020.
Income proof documents must be attached in cases where:
– actual revenue from agricultural or aquaculture production does not match the SRS data indicated in the EPS;
– income from agricultural or aquaculture production is indicated in the documents submitted to the SRS together with other income from economic activities (for example, if income is indicated in line 11 of the 2020 tax return D3).
