Green Deal opportunities and challenges for farmers

On October 27, Iveta Grudovska, an expert from the Farmers' Parliament, participated in the Elektrum Energy Efficiency Center webinar "'Green Deal Opportunities and Challenges for Farmers".
Approximately 20% of greenhouse gas emissions in Latvia are generated by agriculture, so in order to achieve the sustainability goals set by the European Union, improvements are also needed in the agricultural sector. It is important to understand that achieving these goals will not only be challenging, but will also provide several opportunities, so it is important to be aware of what awaits the agricultural sector in the coming years.
The webinar discussed the goals of the European Green Deal, available support solutions for farmers, as well as energy-efficient technologies that allow for reducing energy consumption and improving competitiveness.
