Important dates for farmers this summer

Spring, summer and autumn are crucial periods when farmers must meet several important dates to receive support payments.

By June 25, the fields must be sown or planted with the crop specified in the single area payment application, ensuring a crop density of at least 60% of the plants growing in the field. By August 31, the RSS must be able to identify the grown crop or its residues on the field.

By August 15, grasslands that are not grassland habitats of EU importance and that are not grasslands used in beekeeping for nectar collection or medicinal herb collection must be grazed or mowed and harvested.

By September 15, grasslands that are grassland habitats of EU importance or grasslands used in beekeeping for nectar collection or medicinal herb collection must be grazed or mowed and harvested.

September 15 is also the deadline for fallow lands to be mechanically tilled; row spacings that are more than one meter wide must be mowed or mechanically tilled, and dead trees or shrubs from perennial plantings must be removed.

Areas with grass seed that was sown under spring crops must be maintained until September 15th.

By October 1, lawns that can be used for seed production must be mowed.

This year, catch crops are also considered ecologically significant areas for compliance with greening requirements, but they must be sown by September 1 and remain in the field until at least October 31.
