- In accordance with the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), paragraph 1.1.3.6., when carrying out diesel fuel transportation in packages (cans, drums, IBC containers) up to 1000 l, it is permitted to apply exceptional quantity conditions. When transporting under exceptional quantities, the following ADR requirements must be met:
- Employees, such as drivers, must be instructed in accordance with their competence in ADR 1.3. (the instruction must be recorded in the instruction log or protocol and appropriate instructions must be available in the company);
- Packaging (cans, drums, intermediate bulk containers (IBC)) with the appropriate UN marking must be used (plastic packaging has a shelf life of no more than five years from the date of manufacture and IBC containers must be periodically inspected every 2.5 years). Example of UN marking for an IBC container: and31HA1/Y/0814/…………;
- Each package must be marked with:
- Substances UN No. UN 1202
- with a third-model hazard sign and an environmentally hazardous substance sign (dimensions 100×100 mm). In the case of IBCs, on two opposite sides (so that these marks do not obscure other important information).
The accompanying document does not have a specific form, but must indicate:
- sender, recipient (name, address)
- UN1202, diesel fuel, 3, III (environmentally hazardous)
- quantity in liters, number of packages and description, e.g. 800 l 1 IBC
- The transport unit must contain a valid 2 kg powder fire extinguisher and a portable flashlight.
