Integrated farming methods to be presented at doctors' forum
On Thursday, July 6, in Jurmala, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association "Farmers' Council" Juris Cīrulis will participate at the international doctors' forum "New Wave"s in medicine". J. Cīrulis medical professionals from different countries will present safeas locallyfood production management model, citing his practice at the Mežacīruļi farm as an example.
The third “New Wave in Medicine” doctors’ forum will host the “One World, One Health” congress, where doctors and veterinarians from all over the world are invited to exchange experiences on healthy nutrition, human and animal health. Agriculture will be discussed in connection with the concept "From farm to table", namely a set of measures to provide the consumer with the healthiest and highest quality food possible, and to ensure that its production process (feed preparation, animal welfare, meat storage, processing, etc.) has the least possible impact on the environment. As a result of cooperation, the food chain from producer to consumer is made more logical and harmonious.
Juris Cīrulis speaks about environmentally friendly farming:
"The forum will discuss integrated agriculture, for example: how to reduce production pollution, how to work more effectively with pesticides, and how to better modernize farms. So far, intensive agricultural production has been the most popular, but currently integrated agricultural methods are gaining more and more support. They use environmentally friendly measures in production, preserving biodiversity and at the same time taking measures to ensure balanced plant fertilization and plant protection."
“The Farmers’ Council is one of the farmers’ organizations that supports the harmonious relationship between producer and consumer and environmentally friendly farming. Farmers who endanger the environment due to their reckless actions are held accountable. Incidents are investigated in cooperation with specialists and resolved through dialogue,” continues J. Cīrulis.
