July 20th – field day on the importance of substrate in vegetable growing

LLKC in cooperation with Simonas Zanders (“Blāzmas”, Vārme parish, Kuldīga region), the association “Latvijas Dārznieks” and the APP “Horticulture Institute” invite you to attend a field day “Impact of salt concentration in the substrate on the yield and quality of vegetables” on July 20.

Time and place of the event: 20.07.2022. from 10.00 to 14.30, Youth Initiative Center “Čiekurs”, Vārmes parish, Kuldīgas county and “Blāzmas” Vārmes parish, Kuldīgas county.

AGENDA OF WORK

During the field day, there will be an opportunity to learn about the goals and objectives of the demonstration “The effect of salt concentration (EC) in the substrate on the yield and quality of vegetables”, as well as what are the optimal growing conditions for vegetables in a greenhouse, and also about the effect of nutrients in the soil on the physiological processes of the plant. We will learn about useful organisms for controlling pests in covered areas. In the second part of the field day, there will be an opportunity to learn more about the farm's experience in growing cucumbers in covered areas.
