July 4th Field Day at AREI Priekuļi Research Center “SCIENTIST MEETS FARMER”

On July 4, the Priekuļi Research Center will host a field day “SCIENTIST MEETS FARMERS”, during which you will be able to learn more about the demonstration of potato varieties and technologies (planting distance and seed germination) developed in Latvia suitable for organic farming in various regions of Latvia, the use of mixtures of various types of cereals and legumes, including varieties bred in Latvia or promising breeding material, in fallow lands and the impact on the yield of the following crop – winter wheat – in the organic farming system, the demonstration of new varieties and promising lines of wheat, rye and triticale bred in Latvia in various regions of Latvia, using two types of sowing. They will also talk about the selection of suitable soybean varieties and agricultural techniques and the impact of microbiological preparations on crop yield and its quality.
