“Latvijas Piens” participates in “SIAL China 2015”

Our members SIA "Latvijas Piens" participated in the largest and most important Asian food and beverage exhibition "SIAL China 2015" from May 6 to May 8. After the exhibition, the companies will begin their operations in the Chinese market, representing the foreign market with TRIKATA cheese products.

During the exhibition, potential partners were presented with cheeses that have already gained recognition in European countries. Representatives of the exhibition's supermarket chains positively assessed the brand's communication in Chinese. "Although the Chinese do not have a tradition of eating cheese, the Latvijas Piens product "Snowballs with tomatoes and basil" was rated as the most delicious premium "In turn, potential customers appreciated the TRIKATA brand's Emmental, Gouda and Reserve cheeses," says Anita Skudra, Chairwoman of the Board of Latvijas Piens, commenting on the achievements.

"Latvijas Piens" received Chinese Food Safety Management System (HACCP) certificates in April of this year, and on April 30, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA) included the company "Latvijas Piens" on the list of dairy product importers, which allows it to immediately begin importing products to China.

In the coming months, cooperation agreements will be finalized to begin exporting cheese to China.

SIAL China is the most important food and beverage exhibition in Asia, with around 2,800 exhibitors and more than 55,000 visitors.

Participation in the event was possible thanks to the agreement No. PAK-LIAA-2015/617 concluded on November 5, 2015 between the association “Farmers' Council” and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia on the implementation of the project “Participation in the international exhibition “SIAL CHINA 2015″ from 04.05 – 09.05.2015.” activity “Development of foreign markets”.
