Meetings for dairy producers and beef cattle farmers

On Tuesday, April 21st at 10:00 a.m., a meeting of the members of the Farmers' Assembly will be held in the hall on the 23rd floor of the Ministry of Agriculture - milk producers' meeting.

The following issues are on the agenda:

1. Forecast of milk processing companies regarding the required volume of milk and purchase price forecast. (Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Dairy Farmers Central Union J. Šolks, representative of AS Tukuma Piens, representative of AS Rīgas Piensaimnieks, etc.),

2. On the role of Milk Cooperatives in milk collection, processing and milk volume (M. Feldmane, Head of the Dairy Working Group of the Latvian Agricultural Cooperatives Association),

3. On changes to the Cabinet of Ministers regulations on milk samples (Deputy Director of the Veterinary and Food Department of the Ministry of Agriculture D. Ugare),

4. On the development of a dairy sector strategy,

5. On more efficient use of internal reserves of dairy farms (Vita Būde Gaile, member of the board of Dimela Veta Latvija, JSC).

On Wednesday, April 22 at 12:00, a meeting of the members of the Farmers' Assembly will be held in the hall on the 2nd floor of the Ministry of Agriculture - beef cattle farmers' meeting.

The following issues are on the agenda:

1. On Animal Identification, Registration and EU Payments, Beef Market Trends (Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence R. Krieviņa),

2. On state support payments to beef cattle farmers in 2015 (Deputy Head of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Defence, B. Ingiļāvičute),

3. About the cost of raising beef cattle (Chairman of the Board of SIA "Kalnamuiža" V. Dambe),

4. About beef market trends, demand (Cattle Auction House Manager K. Ādams),

5. About the most popular beef cattle breeds, export opportunities and mistakes made by beef cattle farmers (Chairman of the Board of LPKS “ABC Projekts” M. Vāgners),

6. Basic principles of newborn calf care on beef cattle farms (Vita Būde Gaile, member of the board of Dimela Veta Latvija, JSC),

7. On support for biologically valuable grasslands for beef cattle farmers (Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development Funds Support Department).
