NUTRINFLOW exchange trip to Finland
On May 18 and 19, 2017, representatives of the ZSA participated in the Central Baltic program project “Practical measures in the unified management of land reclamation systems with the aim of reducing the inflow of nutrients into the Baltic Sea (NUTRINFLOW)” seminar at the project's lead partner in Finland.
The project's lead partner, ProAgria Etelä-Suomi, is implementing the development of environmentally friendly drainage systems in the project pilot area in the Hardombacken region in southern Finland.
In the pilot area, a 9,850 m section of the ditch is being improved and supplemented with environmentally friendly elements, creating 5 new culverts, 2 stone piles, 658 m of covered conduit, 300 m of two-stage ditch and 100 m of intact ditch section before the inlet to the river, to ensure biodiversity. During the inspection of the facilities, practical information was obtained that will be useful during the construction works of the Jelgava municipality pilot area.
