A field day on the importance of intercropping in soil improvement will be held on July 12th.
LLKC, in collaboration with the agricultural cooperative “Lejasciņi” and the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics, invites you to attend a field day on July 12 on the importance of intercropping in soil improvement and pest control.
The field day will take place on July 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Turna Culture House, Ērģemes parish, Valka region (GPS 57.754458,25.785221).
During the field day, you will be able to learn about the purpose of the demonstration on controlling harmful organisms in spring wheat crops and its progress. Oskars Balodis, Head of the Crop Production Department of the Latvian Agricultural Research Centre, will talk about intercropping in Latvia and their importance in soil improvement. Agronomist Inga Freimane will introduce crops and their mixtures that can be sown as intercropping, and will share her experience in growing them. The agricultural cooperative “Lejasciņi” will share its farming experience, and it will be possible to evaluate how diseases and pests are controlled in cereal crops.
