The Desira project online meeting took place on June 17th.
An online project meeting was held on 17 June 2020 to prepare analytical tools and activities to help assess the impact of digitalisation in each of the 20 Living Labs set up across Europe. The meeting was facilitated by the University of Pisa and KIT-ITAS, presenting ideas and tools such as online surveys and participatory workshops to help Living Labs organise their activities.
In trying to assess the impact of digitalization in agriculture, forestry and rural areas, several challenges emerged during the meeting, as presented by Living Labs: knowledge of analytical terms and the concept of digitalization; conflicting views on digital technologies; lack of statistical data on digitalization in rural areas, among others. Despite these issues, Living Labs showed enthusiasm to embark on a learning process that will address both theory and practice, technology and science, and the current and future impact of digitalization.
In the coming period, Living Labs will work on its assessment and activities as part of DESIRA Work Package 2. The online training is scheduled for July 8, 2020, after which Living Labs will begin in-depth data analysis through interviews, online surveys and workshops related to their key questions. To move from context to impact, Living Labs will use a systems-oriented approach consisting of identifying social, cyber and physical entities, as well as their relationships and activities.
