About LLU MPS Vecauce
SIA LLU training and research farm “Vecauce” is a multidisciplinary agricultural enterprise. In parallel with production, it provides practical training and consultations for agricultural students and those involved in the industry. The main sectors are livestock farming, crop farming, fruit farming, biogas production. The farm manages 1950 ha of land and employs 120 people. Since 2012, LLU MPS has been a partner in the Baltic Sea Program project Baltic Compact. Within the framework of this, investments have been made in the farm, improving the digestate dispersion stage, modernizing the biogas production plant, as well as continuing the experiment with creating dams in drainage ditches to reduce nutrient (N and P) runoff. Iveta Grudovska will introduce us to the farm’s operations, current events, and the main findings gained in the Baltic Compact project.
