PROJECT ENDED

The implementation of the project “Development of an information collection tool for the management of game animal populations” has been successfully completed. The project was implemented from March 1, 2020 to February 28, 2021 by the Association of Farmers' Parliament, AS “Latvijas valsts meži”, Latvian State Forestry Institute “Silava”, Latvian Hunters' Union, Latvian Forest Owners' Association, Latvian Hunters' Association.

Together, all project activities were successfully completed and the mobile app "Mednis" was developed as a result.

The “Mednis” app provides:

• User authentication and authorization
• Map functionality with location detection
• Recording animal sightings (including adding photos)
• Recording damage caused by animals (including adding photos)
• Game registration (including adding photos) with license verification
• Integration with the State Forest Service for receiving and sending data

"Medni" can also be used offline - in this case, data is saved and sent as soon as mobile network coverage is available. Using the application will facilitate the submission of hunting documentation and contribute to the accumulation of reliable data related to game animals.
