WATERDRIVE project seminar “Good practices for floodplain meadow management”
Jelgava region municipality invites you to a good practice seminar on the restoration, preservation and care of floodplain meadows. The aim of the event is to promote dialogue between landowners and local government and state institutions with the aim of promoting the management of river floodplain territories and improving knowledge in the field of meadow care and other measures that ensure the protection and conservation of waters. The language of the event is Latvian!
The seminar part of the event is scheduled to take place on the ZOOM platform on August 25. The next day, August 26, there will be an opportunity to see in person a demonstration of floodplain meadow restoration techniques and a set of agrotechnical measures for meadow restoration to such a level that after three years the growth conditions of their characteristic plant species will be restored and it will be possible to manage the meadow - to obtain hay.
