LV Seminar – experience exchange trip “Nutrient and organic manure management in environmentally sensitive areas”
On August 21, 2019, a seminar - an experience exchange trip organized by the association "Farmers' Council" took place. “Nutrient and organic manure management in environmentally sensitive areas”. The first part of the event took place at the Ministry of Agriculture, where Maira Dzelzkalēja-Burmistre, an agricultural policy expert from the association “Zemnieku saeima”, informed about the requirements for particularly sensitive territories, which are subject to increased requirements for the protection of water and soil against pollution caused by agricultural activities with nitrates. Subsequently, the participants of the event went to the farm “Mežacīruļi”, where they learned about organic manure management and soil improvement with nutrients. At the end of the trip, the participants went to the farm “Rudeņi”, where they also learned about organic manure management and soil improvement with nutrients.
