Seminar on digitalization in the agricultural sector
On October 11, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., a seminar on digitalization in the agricultural sector was held at “Kazdangas miesniekā”, Bērzu gatve 9, Kazdanga. The seminar was organized by the Farmers' Saeima, Latvian Nature Foundation and research institute Baltic Studies Centre, organized within the framework of the European Union research project CODECS.
Research project CODECS (Digital Ecosystems for the Common Good of Agricultural Digitalization) The overall goal is to improve the motivation and ability of European farmers to understand and use digitalization as a driver of sustainable change. The project will develop user-friendly solutions, methods and tools in collaboration with farmers and other participants in the agricultural knowledge and innovation system, which will allow capturing the benefits and costs of technologies used in real conditions. 33 partners from 18 European Union countries are participating in the research project.

The event brought together farmers, agricultural consultants and policymakers. The results of the discussions will help to understand the various benefits and risks of digitalization in agriculture and will be used to develop proposals on the role of digitalization in promoting sustainable agriculture.
