LV September 11 – field day at the dairy farm SIA “Kalnāji”
LLKC, in collaboration with the dairy farm SIA “Kalnāji”, the Farmers' Council and the Latvian Agricultural University, invites you to attend a demonstration field day in dairy farming on the impact of Holstein HM and HS cow genotype and nutrition on milk productivity and reproduction indicators.
The field day will be held on September 11 in two parts from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Start – at the LLKC training and demonstration center “Lielozoli”, Slampe parish, Tukums region; continuation – SIA “Kalnāji” at the “Līvas” cowshed in Slampe parish, Tukums region.
During the field day, there will be an opportunity to learn about the specifics of managing Holstein red (HM) and Holstein black-spotted (HM) cows in one herd, to get acquainted with the progress of the demonstration and the results of the intermediate demonstration, as well as with the evaluation of linear traits of Holstein black-spotted and red-spotted cows.
The farm manager will introduce the management of the dairy cow barn "Līvas", which has been in operation since 2013. The livestock industry manager and animal evaluators will share their work experience.
