September 7th – field day at a dairy farm

LLKC in cooperation with the dairy farm "Rijaskalni", the Farmers' Union and the Latvian Agricultural University invite you to attend a demonstration field day in dairy farming about feeding and management of dairy cows using extended grazing periods. AGENDA OF WORK

Field Day will be held September 7 in two parts from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Start at the Valmiera region Ramata parish Cultural Center, continuation – at the “Rijaskalni” cowshed.

During the field day, there will be an opportunity to learn about the goals and objectives of the demonstration. A nutrition specialist will inform about the challenges and opportunities of this season for ensuring the feed ration with roughage. An agronomist will tell and show the diversity of pasture grass species and describe their suitability for drought conditions.
