The state will support dairy farming

In order to mitigate the losses in the dairy industry caused by the Russian Federation's ban on imports of goods and to maintain production volumes, while ensuring the preservation of high-quality dairy breeds of dairy cows in the herd's breeding stock, the government approved support for dairy farmers in the amount of 6 million euros on August 26. The support will cover up to 70 percent, or up to 46 euros, of the costs associated with productivity control tests for dairy cows, and the Rural Support Service will grant the support as a lump sum based on the lists submitted by the breeder organization that is the applicant for the support. The support will be paid to all farms registered in the Agricultural Data Center as milk quota holders.

.

The regulations set a deadline of October 1, 2014, by which applicants must submit lists of owners of the surveyed herds.
