Support is available for the development of innovations, new products, and technologies in agriculture
The Rural Support Service announces the acceptance of project applications from November 2 to December 3, 2018 for the first stage of the third round of the sub-measure “Support for the implementation of projects of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) for agricultural productivity and sustainability working groups” of the measure “Cooperation” and the third round of the sub-measure “Support for the development of new products, methods, processes and technologies”.
The third round of public funding is available in the following amounts:
16.1. “Support for the implementation of projects of the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability Working Groups” – 6.3 million euros;
16.2. “Support for the development of new products, methods, processes and technologies” – 3.9 million euros.
Deputy Director of the Latvian Broadcasting Corporation Ģirts Krūmiņš emphasizes, that the maximum project implementation period is five years from the date of the decision to grant support, but no longer than until June 30, 2023. In this round, the same level of activity is expected from farmers, foresters, and agricultural product processors, creating projects that involve both the development of new products and the promotion of technology research and improvement processes in agriculture.

Project applications must be submitted using the RSS electronic application system (EPS) or in person at the RSS regional agricultural departments, or at the RSS Central Structural Unit at the Customer Service Center of the Ministry of Agriculture in Riga, Republikas laukums 2, (tel. 67095000).
The call for project applications has been announced within the framework of the European Union's European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Rural Development Programme.
