A meeting of the GYPREG project partners took place in Sweden
From February 4 to 6, representatives of the Farmers' Council and the Latvian Hydroecology Institute participated in the GYPREG project partners' meeting in Sweden, where soil characteristics from Sweden, Denmark and Latvia and the first results of soil gypsum were presented. In the laboratory of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, we examined soil sample preparation methods and a rain simulator that allows determining nutrient leaching from the soil.
At the end of the visit, we participated in the project working group to agree on further trials and the involvement of various target groups in the popularization of the project. The goal of the GYPREG project is to limit eutrophication in water bodies by reducing phosphorus loads caused by agriculture.
