LV The association "Farmers' Council" invites you to a field day in Zemgale
On April 17, the association “Zemnieku saeima” organizes and invites you to attend a country day: “From manure to the festive table”. The country day will take place in Tērvete parish at the farm “Agrofirma Tērvete” and in Zaļenieki parish at the farm “Mežacīruļi”. Starts at 11:00
Raimonds Jakovickis, livestock expert of the association “Farmers' Council”: "Concluding the Green Agri project activities in Latvia, the Farmers' Council invites everyone interested to a field day. Together, we will learn about and compare three different, modern liquid manure spreading technologies, watch how scientists from the Latvia University of Agriculture measure GHG emissions after manure spreading, and also take a look at one of the most interesting and efficient multidisciplinary farms in Latvia, SIA Mežacīruļi."
The first part of the Countryside Day will take place in Tērvete parish, at a/s “Agrofirma Tērvete”, where the pipeline system spreader with liquid fertilizer incorporation into the soil “Agmeter SRS 1200” will be demonstrated. Field coordinates available HERE! After the demonstration, the participants of the field day are invited to the farm “Mežacīruļi”, where they will have the opportunity to see the application of liquid manure in farm conditions. Liquid manure removal tanks equipped with a hanging pipe and multitwist system will be demonstrated. Afterwards, the participants of the event will have the opportunity to visit a multidisciplinary farm – to get acquainted with innovative solutions in manure processing. (manure processing in a biogas plant, digestate storage and separation, digestate usage practices), as well as view the wetland created on the farm - an environmental element for purifying water before it enters the river from the farm's fields and territory.
The continuation of the Countryside Day is the closing event of the Green Agri project, a festive treat, conversations, discussions, and the creation of new ideas.
