Dobele team wins in the Farmers' Assembly sports games

From July 4 to 6, the Farmers' Sports Games of the association "Zemnieku saeima" took place in the holiday complex "Niedras" in Dobele municipality, which united 300 sports enthusiasts and supporters from all over Latvia in 14 teams to determine this year's winners - the Dobele team - in a fierce battle.

This year, the sports games began on Friday evening with a joint karaoke session, while on Saturday, throughout the day, participants in the sports games felt the spirit of sportsmanship in team and individual disciplines created especially for farmers, which this year were organized by the association “For a Strong Latvia”. Participants in the sports games had the opportunity to compete in such disciplines as “Altum pumpkin football”, “Dimela Veta Latvija leg ball”, “Dobele miller product defense”, “Statoil miles relay”, “Bayer harvest”, “Chicken farm”, “Countryside football”, “Milk can carrying”, “Strongest farmer”, and other disciplines.

The youngest participants in the sports games were active throughout the day in a playground designed for children - drawing, gluing, coloring, cutting, playing, and of course, feasting on sweets provided by supporters.

In a fierce battle, this year's strongest teams were determined:

1. Place "Dobele" (Dobele district)

2. Place "Joži" (Jaunpils district)

3. Place "Sauna" (Preiļi region)

Overall standings in individual disciplines for men 1st place went to Vladimir Khodarcevics, 2nd place went to Sandis Liepa and 3rd place to Ainārs Tiļļa. In the individual disciplines, the overall standings for women 1st place went to Zanda Bembere, 2nd place to Anita Ivdre, and 3rd place to Iveta Rutkovska.

The 1st place winners received a traveling shovel, which will be engraved with the winners and passed on to next year's winners, as well as all 3 first places received specially made "Farmers' Council" T-shirts in gold, silver and bronze. The winners of the individual disciplines received useful prizes from our supporters and all teams received a basket of delicacies with products provided by our supporters.
