COPA-COGECA Presidium meeting in full swing!

The first day of June marks the start of an event we have been preparing for since the fall, namely the COPA-COGECA Bureau meeting, which will take place from 1 to 3 June in Riga, bringing together more than 100 farmers from across the European Union. The Bureau meeting will discuss important topics such as the simplification of the CAP, greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture, the current situation in the dairy sector, etc.
The members of the Presidium will also be addressed in the first part of the day on June 2 by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, Laimdota Straujuma, and in the afternoon session by the Minister of Agriculture, Jānis Dūklavs.
In order to introduce foreign guests to the development of Latvian agriculture, an extensive excursion program is being organized on June 1 and 3. On June 1, an excursion is planned in the direction of Vidzeme to the LPKS “Straupe”, LPKS “VAKS”, the deer park “Saulstari” and the dairy and meat livestock farm “Mazdzērvītes”. On the afternoon of June 3, foreign guests will travel to Zemgale to visit the integrated agricultural farm “Mežacīruļi” and LPKS “LATRAPS”.
