Straujuma was a prime minister who understood farmers.

Looking back on their cooperation with the outgoing government, the board members of the association "Farmers' Parliament" (ZSA) express regret over the resignation of Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma and point out the positive aspects of her activities.
ZSA Board Chairman Juris Lazdins: "Laimdota Straujuma took on the position of Prime Minister in a situation when no one else in the ruling political elite really showed interest in it, and it was a bold step. During the time that Straujuma led the government, it has managed to make several decisions that previous ones did not even start discussions about, including the liberalization of the gas market or airBaltic."
ZSA Board Vice Chairman Juris Cīrulis: "The fact that the Straujuma government came into power at a time when Latvian agriculture was facing the biggest crisis since the restoration of independence was a blessing in disguise. Of all the previous government leaders, Straujuma has been closest to farmers; I doubt whether there will ever be another government leader who understands farmers so well. The government has provided all the support it could under the current circumstances to the dairy industry, thank you for that."
ZSA board member Ieva Alpa-Eizenberga: "I'll be honest - I'm sorry that Laimdota Straujuma has decided to resign from the position of head of government, it's a pity that she got tired so quickly. I appreciate what Straujuma has done, and I have nothing against her working style, which has been criticized a lot. The Prime Minister took over previous political initiatives and has not done anything that would completely derail us. At this moment, when various disturbing, security-threatening events are taking place throughout Europe and the world, farmers are not in the worst situation."
The Farmers' Parliament thanks Laimdota Straujuma and wishes the coalition well
