Voting has begun for the best agricultural cooperative of 2014
Today, December 19, electronic voting has begun in the competition "Best Agricultural Cooperative of the Year 2014" organized by the Latvian Agricultural Cooperative Association (LLKA). The aim of the competition is to determine the best Latvian cooperative that, by implementing the idea of cooperation, has gained the recognition and trust of farmers.
Starting today, anyone interested will be able to vote for their favorite agricultural cooperative on a website created specifically for voting. vote.llka.lv. The best agricultural cooperatives will be determined in three groups – large, medium-sized and small cooperatives. The group of large cooperatives with a turnover of 1.5 million EUR and more, the group of medium-sized cooperatives – from 300,000 EUR to 1.5 million EUR and the group of small cooperatives – with a turnover of up to 300,000 EUR.
Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Football Association Indulis Jansons: "This year has not been easy for farmers, various problems have affected practically all sectors - grain farming, dairy farming, pig farming, and also the fruit and vegetable sector. However, it is precisely in difficult times that the power of cooperation appears, which leads us to conclude that the work we have started must be continued. By summarizing the best cooperatives in the competition, we want to say thank you for what you have done and inspire them to further success."
Voting will take place until January 25, and after the results are compiled, the winners will be announced on January 30. A jury of industry experts established by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce will determine the winner in the nomination "Cooperative of the Year in Growth".
