We are participating in the conference “Greener Agriculture for a Bluer Baltic Sea” in Warsaw
Today and tomorrow, September 23-24, the conference "Greener Agriculture for a Bluer Baltic Sea" is taking place in Warsaw, bringing together farmers, politicians, researchers and environmental specialists from all Baltic Sea countries. The theme of the conference is "Shared Sea - Shared Challenges - Shared Solutions". At the conference, the vision of Latvian farmers in implementing environmentally friendly, agri-environmental measures will be explained by Maira Dzelzkalēja, Deputy Chairwoman of the Board of the Farmers' Assembly.
The winner of the "Baltic Sea Farmer" competition organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature will also be awarded during the conference. Among Latvian farmers, the Mežacīruļi farm has been nominated for the prestigious European competition, thus highly appreciating the work of the owners Juris and Vija Cīruļi, who have introduced innovative, environmentally friendly technologies and methods to the farm.
The participation of the association “Zemnieku saeima” in the event is ensured by the Baltic Sea Program project “Baltic Compact”. In the project, we have devoted great attention to identifying targeted, effective and at the same time feasible agri-environmental measures for farmers.
