See you tomorrow at the seminar on efficient and environmentally friendly farming.

"Farmers' Council" invites farmers and other interested parties to a field day - a seminar "Manure and digestate management - benefits for farmers and society", which will take place tomorrow, June 13, at 10:00 am at the farm "Vecsiljāņi", in Bebri parish, Aizkraukle region.

.

At the seminar, representatives of the Madona Regional Environmental Board will talk about the latest environmental requirements for manure and digestate management, while agricultural experts will introduce the efficiency, technologies, and practices of digestate and liquid manure use.

.

Manure and digestate are organic fertilizers, the effective use and management of which is widely discussed. Effective use of nutrients in organic fertilizers is very important, as it allows plant nutrients – nitrogen and phosphorus – to be retained in the production cycle. As a result, the farm can gain economic benefits, as it does not have to spend money on purchasing mineral fertilizers, as well as simultaneously reduce the risk to the environment. Modern technologies allow to reduce such side effects of manure management as the spread of odors and road loads that arise when transporting manure to the fields. Information on all these issues will be available at the seminar on June 13.

.

The seminar is being held within the framework of the project "Baltic Compact" with the support of SIA "Latvian Rural Consulting and Education Center", the association "Farmers' Council" and the agricultural cooperative "Vecsiljāņi".
