We participated in a seminar on improving the herd level on the farm

On August 29, the “Third Holstein Breed Animal Exhibition in Latvia” organized by the “Latvian Holstein Breeders Association” took place in Vidzeme. Thanks to the “BreedExpo” project, we were one of the supporters of this exhibition. It should be emphasized that this summer this was the only exhibition of its kind in Europe. Dairy Farmers' Day began in Valmiera with an online seminar “Improving the Herd Level on the Farm: Effective and Useful Management Tools”. The lecturer of the seminar was an expert from the Netherlands, Peek Huub.

PRESENTATION

The road then led to Burtnieki Stud Farm, where the exhibition took place. The event began with a competition for young dairy farmers, where participants in the age group of 5-10 years brought small calves into the exhibition ring. It was truly moving. Heifers and cows were demonstrated throughout the day, the best of which received prizes. Many thanks to the team of the “Latvian Holstein Breeders Association” for their work in the development of the dairy industry.
