LV We invite you to apply for land reclamation courses
In September, the Latvian Land Reform Commission is organizing a two-day training course for all interested parties without basic knowledge of land reclamation works who are expected to work on land reclamation projects in farms or parish territories. The training is taking place within the framework of an EU project and is relevant in preparation for the implementation of large-scale land reclamation works in the next planning period 2014-2020.

In the program:
1. State and EU support and the procedure for the construction of land reclamation facilities (lecturers – Valdis Pētersons, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia, and Edgars Griķītis, Real Estate of the Ministry of Agriculture);

2. Fundamentals of the construction and operation of land reclamation systems, theoretical and practical lessons (Kaspars Abramenko and Artūrs Veinbergs, Department of Environment and Water Management, Latvian University);
.
3. Damage to land reclamation systems, their prevention and system operation (Doctor of Engineering Juris Strūbergs);
.
4. Construction of culverts and application of the latest geosynthetic materials. Filtration materials used in drainage construction (Einārs Pundurs, SIA “Armat”);
.
5. Review of the equipment for the installation, reconstruction and maintenance of land reclamation systems in nature and carrying out work on the farm (Edgars Sondors, Head of the Technical Department of LPKS "Latraps");
.
6. Construction of land reclamation systems, taking into account environmental protection requirements (Ivars Kalnītis, Deputy Head of the Continuing Education Department of the Latvian Academy of Sciences).

The first day of the course is this year on September 26. Classes start at 9:00 a.m. at the Faculty of Rural Engineering of the Latvian University of Agriculture in Jelgava, Akadēmijas Street 19. The second day of classes is on September 30, at the premises of the LPKS "Latraps" in Elejā and a trip to the farm.
